What Does the Fox Say? Coffee Sleeve Pattern

It’s no secret that I don’t keep up on pop culture references. Unless, that is, they are plastered all over my Facebook feed and even then a lot of it is over my head. That’s why when my friend Wendy created a board on Pinterest and then it blew up, I didn’t get it at all.

It wasn’t until another friend (hi, Kristina!) forced me to Google “What Does the Fox Say?” that I had any idea what the hype was about. I mean, I’d seen cute foxes and such on clothes, but this particular reference was new to me. I told you guys, I live under a rock – a big rock. But now that I know about the foxes, there’s no turning back.

In case there’s anyone else out there that’s missed the entire What Does the Fox Say? phenomenon, you should check really check out the video below. It’s kinda catchy and totally makes me smile. I’ve been trying to get the boys to watch, but they are refusing. Probably a good thing because otherwise it would probably become a thing around here.

So, anyway, in homage to the foxes I decided to write up this quick, easy, FREE pattern for a fox coffee sleeve. It’s the first time I’ve ever written a pattern for sharing, so bear with me if it’s not perfect.

Barb – if you click on the image, it should pull up a separate PDF. Then just do file save. Make sure you’re saving as a PDF, though, not a web page. If you are still having trouble, email me at .

Hi, and thanks for the pattern. It was fun!
A couple of changes I made on the fly that you might consider:
      1) When switching to orange yarn after making your little black nose, do the switch on the last (only!) pull through of the black HDC. This will eliminate that stray bit of black yarn showing up on the first row of orange.
      2) When making the ears, instead of fastening on the orange, crocheting over the ear, fastening off, and repeating with the second ear, consider this:
      a) Do not fasten off orange after completing face.
      b) crochet cream part of both ears as described in pattern
      c) sl st with orange until you get to the first ear, crochet over ear as described in pattern, sl st to the second ear, and then all the way to the end of the orange row. Then fasten off.
Saves a lot of knots and looks fine!
