Decoupaged Altoids Tins | Adventures in Pinterest

If you follow me on , you probably know that I spent this past weekend in Salt Lake City at the SNAP! Conference. In a lot of ways, SNAP! is similar to other blog/social media events I’ve attended but it also had it’s own unique spin because it’s aimed at creatives.

Not wanting to miss a thing, I immediately signed up for the SNAP! secret sister program. I was super excited but also a little intimidated because I knew some of the bloggers in attendance would be SUPER crafty. The plan was to bring 3 surprise gifts for another attendee to be handed out over the course of the conference.

I knew right away that I wanted to make one of these awesome decoupaged Altoids tins I had pinned recently. Who doesn’t want a sweet little personalized tin in which to store . . . whatever? Since I was making one, I thought it would also be fun to make tins for my roomies, the crafty sisters behind Club Chica Circle.

I will admit that I was a little intimidated by this project. I wasn’t sure it could possibly as easy as it sounded. I’ve decoupaged lots, but I’ve never used before so I was a little intimidated. Honestly, though, it was SO easy. Now I just want to make these cute little tins all day, everyday. Good thing my boss is an Altoids addict – lots of tins for me!

It’s a little hard to see since the Dimensional Magic dries super clear, but the top of these tins comes out smooth and flat (unless you get a bubble which one of mine did). Overall, I’d call this a definite Pinterest win – easy, excellent directions, pretty result. Yay!

My only TINY note is that the Dimensional Magic didn’t spread as much as I thought it might so I ended up using a safety pin to spread it all the way to the outer edges of the tin. It was totally not a big deal but just something you’ll want to be aware of if you try this on your own.
