Last-Minute Costume | No-Sew Bat Wings

You guys! I have something really, super awesome for you today. My friend Anna from In the Next 30 Days is here sharing this CRAZY EASY tutorial for no sew bat wings! I know two little boys who would love to have these wings for their own and I’m sure you know someone too!

Need a quick, last minute costume or just something new and awesome to add to your dress up collection? These easy bat wings fit the bill either way!I don’t know about your kids, but mine are love to dress up. And around here, our Halloween season starts in April. My kids go through costume ideas and sometimes actual costumes like they go through jeans–in a hurry. So when I come across a costume thats cheap, easy to make, and that makes as big impact, then we’re all happy. Really happy.

So these simple Bat Wings make my kids and me very, very happy.

All you need is 1/2 yard of black felt, a piece of chalk, some sharp scissors, and maybe 10 minutes. It’s that fast.

Here’s what you do:

Fold your 1/2 yard of felt in half.
Cut a small curve off at the fold. This is where your child’s neck will go.
Start at the fold on the opposite end from the one you just cut, and draw scallops that follow a curve to the top outside edge.
Cut along your chalk lines.
You’re already almost finished!
At the top of the wings (the flat side), cut two vertical bands about an inch or two wide on each half of the wings. There’s no need to measure. These will be where your little bat’s arms will go through.

Now put it on your kiddo, and you’re ready to go Trick-or-Treating!

Bats at my house wore black super hero masks and rain boots, so feel free to use your imagination to finish your costume!

You had me at no sew. I actually have some black felt on hand so I can make one of these for my kids. Thanks for sharing!
